I have the pleasure of participating in another exhibition organized by A(by)P in collaboration with Somerset House: Venturing Beyond: Graffiti and the Everyday Utopias of the Street. The exhibition is open until 2 May in London at Somerset House.
Venturing Beyond: Graffiti and the Everyday Utopias of the Street
organized by A(by)P and Somerset House
03 de March, 3 rd – Mayo, 2nd 2016
Strand, WC2R 1LA London, United Kingdom
Venturing Beyond is the third exhibition organised by A(by)P in collaboration with Somerset House. The exhibition is part of Somerset House’s UTOPIA 2016 and will explore unsanctioned public art – graffiti – as an intrinsically utopian practice.
Venturing Beyond will showcase the specially-commissioned work of seventeen street artists from around the globe, featuring stars of the scene Shepard Fairey, Swoon and REVOK, to critically acclaimed artists such as Eltono and Filippo Minelli.
From the 13th – 20th April Horfée and Russell Maurice will take up residency, providing visitors with an insight into the processes of the practice. Working in situ they will produce a new body of work based on the utopian themes of the exhibition. This project space will remain open alongside the main exhibition until the 2nd of May.
In addition, A(by)P and Somerset House will be producing a wide programme of events to follow the key themes of the exhibition, including workshops, talks, films, a music night with NTS Radio, and performances. All events are presented in association with UCL Urban Laboratory.
As the exhibition approaches, A(by)P would like to thank our sponsors who have made this possible:
