At the end of December 2019, Sixe Paredes made a new mural from the Numerical Abstraction series. This is a series that he has been working on for some years, looking for the mystical depth of automatic numerical writing.
The process was filmed for a new monograph about Sixe Paredes, in the legendary METROPOLIS program. This weekly television program is broadcast on RTVE’s channel 2 and addresses culture and contemporary art in different disciplines. With more than 1,300 broadcasts since its premiere in April 1985, it is one of the longest-running programs on television in Spain and a benchmark of it’s kind in Europe.
This mural was painted on one of the sides of the Fernando Martin pavilion, in Fuenlabrada Madrid and will be part of the new project “Fuenlabrada Open Air Museum”, a municipal initiative that was born out of an important cultural commitment as well as the engagement of the municipal government.
